Why Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy can be extremely beneficial for both you and baby. Not only can chiropractic care help reduce aches and pains during pregnancy, it can also help balance your pelvis to create space for baby to move into an optimal birth position. Pregnant women can have safer and more comfortable births by having their pelvis and its surrounding structures balanced using the Webster Technique, which addresses the pelvic bones, hip muscles, low back, nerves, and ligaments of the uterus.

Background and Training

I have focused much of my training on working with pregnant women and children. I became Doula trained in 2015 as well as Webster Technique certified (a chiropractic technique to balance the pelvis of pregnant women) in 2014.  I offer extensive knowledge about the incredible journey your body experiences throughout pregnancy and how to best adapt during each trimester.

Prenatal Visits

At around 34 and 37 weeks of pregnancy, you will have two at home chiropractic sessions lasting about 30 minutes each. During each visit, I will be using the Webster technique to assess the entire spine with a major focus on the pelvic region including the muscles and ligaments directly affecting the position of your uterus. When this area is balanced, the baby will have room to move into an optimal position for birth.

Postnatal Visits

When you and baby are both back home recuperating I will be making two more visits to assess your spine as well as your babies. Even the most “natural” birth can create birth trauma for you and the baby's body. It is crucial to get your spine and nervous system checked to ensure optimal rehabilitation and proper neurological development for you and your baby.
